How to summarize an audio recording
The AI summary is generated from the transcript, so transcription is the first step. You choose when to run the analysis after the recording has been processed.
- Upload an MP3, WAV or OGG file in Workspace and select the recognition language. Enable speaker separation for conversations if helpful.
- Open the completed result and replay timestamped passages containing important names, dates or figures.
- In the Summary tab, choose Generate Summary. Read the Overview, Key Points and To-Dos sections.
- Copy the sections you need. Keep the transcript available when checking a conclusion or sharing context.
A summary, a transcript and a mind map answer different questions
A transcript helps you find the wording and the point in the recording where it occurred. A summary condenses the main ideas. A mind map groups topics into a structure for reviewing their relationships.
Use the summary to decide what deserves attention, then return to the transcript to verify it. Open the Mind Map tab and generate that view separately when the recording contains several connected themes.
Keep uncertainty in the summary
A tentative suggestion is not the same as an agreed decision. In the example below, the team commits to preparing label variants but does not commit to a launch date. A useful review preserves that distinction.
Check summaries for missing qualifications, incorrect numbers and tasks assigned to the wrong speaker. Speaker labels separate voices; they do not automatically establish a person’s real name. Background noise and overlapping speech can affect both the transcript and the summary.

Free accounts receive 30 transcription minutes per month, with files up to 30 minutes and 200 MB. Summary and mind map generation have plan limits; Free includes one generation of each per file.
